The Oppo Find X smartphone finally had its official moment of unveiling in Paris. The major specifications of the phone were interestingly revealed ahead of the launch. The launch event worked as a seal of confirmation for all the leaked specs that were ultimately proven right. Other than its powerful array of specs, it is the placement of cameras on the Find X that took the limelight. Let’s take a look at what the pop-up camera is all about along with other specs.
Oppo has integrated a tiny motorized mechanism into the top panel of the Find X to incorporate a notch less all screen design. This motorized mechanism stays hidden until you launch the camera app, which triggers it. As soon as you open the camera app, the top section of the front panel slides up and brings out a 25MP selfie camera for front clicks and a 16MP+20MP dual-camera setup at the rear. This feature on the Find X gives it an edge over other phones with traditional camera placement. The front camera in the pop-up panel supports Face Unlock tech like the iPhone X with infrared depth detection.
The Oppo Find X comes with a 6.4-inch OLED Panoramic Arc Screen with full HD+ resolution at 2340×1080 pixels and 93.5% screen to body ratio that is more than that of Vivo NEX S. It’s worth noting that the Find X also has another variant dubbed Find X Automobili Lamborghini special edition. This edition is crafted with premium material, houses 512GB of internal storage and supports Super VOOC flash charging technology.
The front camera on the Find X houses 25MP lens with AI-assisted features that offer 3D beautification effects. The front camera AI also supports 3D emojis. On the rear, there is a dual-camera setup with 16MP f/2.0 primary sensor and 20MP f/2.2 secondary sensor. The rear camera setup supports portrait mode along with automatic screen recognition that applies effects according to the scene detection and depth-of-field effects.
It’s worth noting that the Find X ditches the 3.5mm headphone jack for the USB Type-C. On the software side, the phone runs Android 8.1 Oreo-based Oppo’s Color OS 5.1 UI out-of-the-box.
Rs. 78,500 for the standard variant. The standard model will be available in Bordeaux Red and Glacier Blue color options. Oppo will start shipping the phone in August.
As of now, there is no information regarding the Find X’s launch in India, but Oppo India recently teased the launch of the phone that sort of hints that the phone will most likely make its way to the Indian shores. Given its specs, the Find X will rival Samsung’s Galaxy S9 series and Huawei’s P20 Pro.
