Considering the fact that Xiaomi’s latest smartphone in the Redmi Note series usually occupies the throne in our top 20 charts, it’s quite surprising to see the Note 5 Pro being displaced to second place within a few months of its launch by Vivo’s V9 . The notch-toting selfie-centric smartphone from Vivo jumped two spots to sit at the first position in April, and is being given company by its arch-rival the OPPO F7 , which leaped 15 places to reach the third position. The Redmi Note 5 slipped two spots to find the fourth seating, while the Nokia 7 Plus has made an impressive debut ion the popularity chart at fifth place.
While there aren’t many new devices in the top 20 most popular phones of April, there have been quite a few ups and downs. Many notable phones seemed to have lost the popularity they used to enjoy, while other smartphones have gained at their expense to reach higher rankings. Let’s take a look at the entire list, wherein alongside the name of the smartphone, we’ve also mentioned the change in its position from the previous month, its segment and month of launch in the Indian market.
While Xiaomi continues to dominate the list of top 20 smartphones, it’s interesting to see the Finish brand following it with three of its devices included in the list. On the back of its latest smartphones – along with the original Nokia 6 – the brand has surpassed Samsung, which only has two devices in the top 20 most popular phones. Both OPPO and Honor also join the Korean brand with two devices each, while all the other phone makers have just one smartphone included in the list for the month of April.
